Axel Muvaka makes French Rugby League debut

New Caledonian player, Axel Muvaka, made his Rugby League debut on Sunday when the Sharks Lattes-Montpellier kicked off their 2020/21 Division Nationale campaign.

Playing against Boxing Club Thorois at Stade Courtoujours de Maurin-Lattes, Muvaka alternated between the wing and centre as his Sharks team went down 56 – 20 in a high scoring affair.

Meanwhile, in Elite Two, Tely Pelo’s Villegailhenc-Aragon RL side fell to Racing Club Lescure-Arthès at Stade Jean Vidal after the Minotaurs ran out of time to complete their comeback.

Despite scoring first, Villegailhenc-Aragon were down 14 – 4 at halftime, forcing the side to mount a comeback in the second half.

In the other Elite Two matches, Racing Club Salon went down to US Entraigues, whilst Villefranche over powered Toulon.
